When at junior High school in 1992 she auditioned for an idol group on TV, which was her foray to becoming famous. She began acting in 1993 and became a supporting actress by 1995. The year after gave her first main actress role. Kanno won praise for her portrayal of a deaf and mute person in Kimi No Te Ga Sasayaite Iru and solidified her reputation. More popularity came her way when, again in 1997, she posed for a naked pictorial book of herself. Soon she was also trying her hand at singing and had a hit with the song Zoo. Nobuhiro Aihara was born on 17 October 1944 in Isehara, Kanagawa, Japan. He was a director and producer, known for Sayônara, ginga tetsudô Surî-Nain: Andromeda shûchakueki (1981), Galaxy Express 999 (1979) and Stone (1975). He died on 30 April 2011 in Bali, Indonesia.
